This is a K12 presentation done on December 8, 2009 by Kern Kelly.
The lecture was a tutorial and application based lesson. The first portion of the lesson was about the set up of an actual iPod touch and was fairly elementary. He then showed some helpful Apps, how to use iTune U, and how you could use Google docs to make interactive quizzes. I found his use of Google docs as an interactive response based quiz or survey very helpful, especially because he shows how to set it up for use on both a PC and the iPod touch. The templates allow the teacher to set up various quizzes (he even makes recommendations about which ones work best with the iPod touch) and have the information fed into a data sheet to allow the teacher to assess or gather the information more conveniently. I also found the information he provided about AV hook ups and thumb tack microphones useful.
If we ever consider a one-to-one program for our district, the iPod touch has my vote. It’s a familiar format for our students and is easy to use. Plus, the free information and videos available from iTunes U gets better every day. All those Apps are a plus too. Imagine the district paying $ 0.99 for an App that has over 40 classic novels at our student’s finder tips! All we would need is Wi-Fi and we could really enhance our students’ learning experiences.

Good work embedding the presentation in the post. I like the practical advice he gave. This would be an really good presentation for a teacher to watch that was unfamiliar with the itouch.

We'll be looking at itunes U in class next time. There are some really neat materials people have created and shared.
